‘Cow and Barrage Balloon’
Herdings Park Sheffield.
The clay ‘Cow’ model created during creative workshops with Herdings young people was ‘captured’ using computer digitising technology and transformed into a 3D CAD model which could be examined, refined and evaluated before committing to manufacture. The accuracy of laser cutting and flexibility of traditional metalworking skills were then employed to ‘realise’ the artwork. The bold paint detailing was developed by the children of Valley Park School and applied before installation. In Phase 2 of the Herdings Park project the community has developed ideas for sculptures with integral seating, play and fitness elements and a ‘textural’ clue finding trail to extend
