‘Moran Globe clock’
Crown Moran Hotel, Chiswick
This project was for a Centrepiece for the foyer of the 5 Star Crown Moran Hotel in Chiswick.
The Brief required a contemporary globe centrepiece sympathetic to the designers interior scheme. The ‘Moran globe clock’ created was 1 metre in diameter with applied polished stainless steel discs creating a ‘pixelated’ effect to the land masses. Pin hole lighting detailed the surface of the globe while an external lightbox in the surrounding cowl provided overall illumination.
The Globe rotated once every 12 hours, and the time was read from a polar line which bisected the stylised numerals along the equator.
