Case Study
‘Little Mester’ -Commissioned by Herbert Housley MBE

‘Little Mester’ is based on a traditional Sheffield steel trade grinder. The design originated after onversations with the client who had been a grinder in his past; and research visits to existing grinding shops in Sheffield. With photographs and drawings, a model was developed in clay. Three  sculptures were cast from wax models; two  in bronze and one in Sterling silver - the later was presented by Mr Housley to the Company of Cutlers in Sheffield for there permanent collection.
